ISA or not
We have £3,000 of long term savings to invest now. We have already put £6,000 into our ISAs for this year and it is paying the prevailing derisory rate. Do we top up our ISAs and accept the current low rate or invest elsewhere, at a higher rate with no ongoing tax reflief?

First Direct ISA cashed my cheque then rejected application!
Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do about the loss of interest... Basically my partner applied online for a First Direct ISA. They sent an application form to sign and said send a cheque. We did this and then they cashed the cheque (3.6K). The next day we receive a letter saying the application is rejected…

Has the limit changed for everyone?
I have maxed out my ISA for the year with the £3.6K limit. However, it says I have £1.5K allowance remaining. I thought the limit had only gone up for the over 50's and I'm far from 50 :p (but not far enough for my liking) I don't want to put anything in incase it's an error on the banks part.

ISA Transfer
I've currently got an ISA with Manchester BS with a 45 day notice period. The rate is being reduced on 7th December from 3.26% to 2.71%, and therefore I want to transfer out. Been looking at the fixed rate deals available, such as the 2 year Bradford & Bingley, but am worried that should I transfer the rate will drop…

Natwest error gives me good ISA Rate
Natwest messed up a transfer internally back in the spring and closed my cash-isa and transferred all my ISA money to a lower rated E-Isa I already held. After a perplexing amount of phonecalls and letters of complaint they admitted their error and resurrected the account. Currently it would appear that when they recreated…

The best reason yet why you should use your tax free ISA allowance
I've just come across the following website which shows the extent of our national debt and the way taxation is going to have to increase massively to meet it over the coming years. :http://www.debtbombshell.com/ Those who have built up a tax-free savings pot through ISAs while they still have any money left will probably…

Alert YBS E-ISA/Barnsley Online ISA
The Barnsley BS is now just a trading name of the Yorkshire BS, since their merger. The ISA they are offering:- http://www.barnsley-bs.co.uk/savings/online_accounts/online_isa.html seems to be a carbon copy of the YBS e-ISA :- http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/interest_rates/eisa.html but with a 0.75% bonus until 31/12/2010.…

Opening 2 Cash ISAs in one year
I have two cash ISAs, one of which is a standard Cash ISA, and has been running for nearly 10 years. The other was a TESSA ISA that is now a standard Cash ISA. Together they amount to over £50K, the FSA savers guarantee. They are both earning seriously bad interest rates, and I want to transfer them both to get better…

FTSE tracker ISA
I've got a sum (just under £4k) which I shouldn't be needing any time soon, and was thinking of putting it into an ISA. I'd like a good return - of course - but losses would not be the end of the world so I can take some risks with this. I don't have the knowledge to buy and sell individual shares (and don't see myself…
