Question regarding S&S ISA and Dividends
Hi all. I recently decided, for the first time, to use up the rest of my yearly ISA allowance by opening a self-select stocks and shares ISA with interactive investor. I have now used up my £3,600 allowance (rest is in cash) and have split it between 3 funds: Aviva UK Property Acc Jupiter Financial Opportunities Acc…

Savers lose out in cash rate war
Interesting article in The Times about banks/BS's increasing their ISA rates for new accounts only . Gov't tries to help us savers/investors and the banks shaft us yet again. Quite p1ssed off about this TBH, even though I am not over 50. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/money/savings/article6822913.ece

Want to transfer cash ISA, but deposited this year
Hi, Basically I'm currently on a very poor rate and want to transfer to Intelligent Finance's 2.75% Cash ISA. My current A&L Direct 4 ISA is extremely poor as I opened over a year ago and the bonus expired but I've been busy and a bit slow changing. Unfortunately I have also made contributions this tax year, but not the…

ISA funds missing from HSBC to Intelligence Finance
Hi all, I opened ISA account with Intelligence Finace on 20/08, the same day I authorized HSBC to transfer current ISA to IF. HSBC did the transfer by chq on 26/08. But because I amended connecting account details on IF welcome pack, they said need to open another ISA account and only sent me the new welcome pack…

withdrawing from ISA - Better than taking on a loan?
Due to having her car written off my partner needs to buy a new one. She needs approx £2,500 to buy a replacement after receiving payment on her old car. She has an ISA taken out this year, which I believe is with Nationwide. Is she better off removing some cash from the ISA instead of taking on a loan?

Might be a silly question, but if you dont ask you will never know

First Direct cash ISA - banking fee?
Hi all, I know this is probably a very easy question to answer, so I apologise in advance! Basically I have just transferred my cash ISA to First Direct, and it has all gone through fine. However I have received a letter from them relating to a £10 monthly banking fee for First Direct customers. In my ISA T&Cs there is no…

Transferring an old S&S PEP-now-ISA
I have had an investment with Invesco Perpetual for more than a decade now - it was a PEP, but is now an ISA. It is worth around £10k at the moment (was £13k a couple of years back, did go down to £9k). I haven't contributed to it for many years. I currently have used my full cash ISA limit in the last 3 years, and have a…

Cash ISA question help please!
Hi guys, I think someone has already posted a similar case to mine but I just want to double check before I apply for a different ISA. I have been with A&L Direct Issue 4 since last year but recently checked their interest rates. Offering 0.10% which is terrible, I haven't even been informed at all re the new interest…

ISA tax relief
I shall shortly be moving my ISA from Nationwide. One thing though has always puzzled me and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. When I look at Nationwide's current interest rates I notice that the ISA rates are roughly equivalent to the net rates on non-ISA account and bonds. If the government introduced ISAs as a tax…

Easy ISA questions but I dont know!
I have an ING isa from 2008/9. In all fairness, I tend to use it more as an ordinary savings account putting in and taking out (within the threshold). I cant pay anymore in to it as they've closed it to payments and brought out a new one for 2009/10. ING dont do transfers from one ISA to another. Would like to stay with…

Abbey Direct ISA must be on issue 3!
We all know that relying on financial institutions to look after your interests is pretty dumb. I was still shocked when I called Abbey to check the rate on my Direct Cash Isa. This is necessary as Abbey does not contact you when the rate changes and you only receive a statement once a year. I was receiving 0.3% on the ISA…

'One ISA per year' question
Hello, For the financial year 2008-2009, I had an ISA with provider 1. In April 2009 (after the start of this tax year) I applied for a new ISA with provider 2, into which I planned to transfer all the money from the original ISA. However, as I was waiting for ISA 2 to be set up (it took around 6 weeks), I paid money into…
