Keydata ISA 7.5%
An IFA told me today about a 7.5% ISA with Keydata for 5 years, and 7.7% for 7 years. I'd never heard of it, but was told it is only something accessible to IFA's. Rate sounds good. Tried to check out a website and wasn't sure I got the right one but couldn't see anything about such an ISA. The deal is available until July…

Still learning (from this great site) but understand that this ISA isn't that great and would like to move on to better investments. Really need…

Natiownide FTSE All Share tracker isa
As some of you may remember I have had to open the above mentioned ISA as part of securing an interest only mortgage with the Nationwide. I have initally agreed to pay a derisory £20 a month into it just to get the ball rolling. It seems I may possibly be fortunate enough to save a bit more than this each month now…

Are all the banks this thick?
I wanted my bank to open an ISA for me and put £25 every month via direct debit right from my current account which I have in the same bank. I can only go to the bank and to the shops on Saturday, so I went, got the info, took the form home to read it carefully, filled it, and the next suitable Saturday I went back and…

Living overseas -- ISA transfer allowed?
The Inland Revenue says the following about ISAs for people living overseas: "You can only open an ISA if you are resident and ordinarily resident in the UK for tax purposes... If you open an ISA and then move abroad, you are no longer classed as a UK resident. So you cannot put money into the ISA. You can still keep your…

Transfering a Halifax variable rate ISA to a Halifax saver direct
Has anyone done this. I was told in branch that it had to be done online (fair enough) but now I'm having a crisis of confidence that I did the right thing. I opened an ISA saver direct stating that the incoming funds would be Other, and put Transfer in the little box. What happens now - do they write or what?

NS&I Isa won't accept transfer

Transfer rules on stocks and shares mini isa's
Could someone put me right on the transfer ruling on share mini isa's. I have the maximum (4k) invested in a unit trust within an ISA for the 2005/06 tax year. I know these are medium to long term investments but if I want to change it, do I just request repayment or is it like cash isa's where you do not withdraw, you ask…

New comer to ISAs... advice required
Hi all, new to ISAs and have some questions. I'd like to begin investing some or all of my £7k allowance each year, £3k in mini cash ISAs and some or all of the remainder in an index tracker. FYI, im 22. Now, for the mini cash ISA part, do they work in the same way as a typical savings account where interest it applied…

Open a cash mini ISA with a transfer in?
For this tax year I opened a NS&I direct ISA and put in the full £3k. I also have money from several earlier tax years in an Abbey Postal ISA (Issue 1). Now that Abbey have decided to reduce the rate on that account from 4.9% to 4.65% (thanks to StuSter for the heads up in this thread), I want to transfer the money from…

Isa Help!! Please!
Hi All  I am new to this site, and think its fab, and wonder whether anyone could advise me on a couple of things. I have about £2500 that I wish to invest. As we may move soon, I was thinking of putting £2000 into a cash ISA, and the remaining £500 I thought I would be a bit more risky in investing. Questions:…

Abbey Postal ISA (Issue 1) rate reduction
Abbey have very kindly notified me today (19/6) that the rate of interest on this account was reduced from 4.90% to 4.65% w.e.f 1/6! Good job we had already transferred the account to a Halifax account paying a fixed 5%. Not exactly the straightforward process it should have been, but hey ho.

Abbey ISA paying 4.9% was closed without my say so.
I recently did a PART transfer out of this ISA into my A&L issue 2. I wanted to leave this ISA open in case A&L dropped the rates, because 4.9% still isn't bad. The morons at Abbey just completely closed my account ignoring my instructions of the PART transfer. I phoned them to complain - I was promised they would look…

2 Year Fixed Rate ISA - 5.25%
Hiya - I don't know if anyone has previously mentioned this, but Portman Building Society offer 5.25% on a two year fixed rate ISA or TOISA. Not bad ehh? Yes, I know you have to keep it in there for the entire two years (otherwise there's a hefty penalty) but worth it if your not planning on spending it anyway...what does…

Who chooses Maxi or Mini Isa ?
My question is probably going to show I don't really understand ISAs. I've done a Mini Cash ISA for the last 4 years. I don't understand why both Mini and Maxi exist, but maybe I don't need to. The maximum on both is £7,000. Who would choose a Maxi ISA and why would they do it. Do providers of Maxi ISA pay as good a rate…
