Hsbc Isa
Hi there I have an HSBC stocks and share ISA This was started in April 2002. I have had a 16% growth over 3 years. I am thinking of taking the money and putting it in savings. My ISAs are invested in UK and European blue chip companies. I feel that there are tough times ahead. The FTSE has done really well in 2005, and I…

Does my ISA interest affect what I can put in next year?
If for example I had £3000 in an ISA for a full tax year and got paid about £150 interest for that year. Does that mean I can only put in £2850 for the next tax year as £150 interest will have already been added?

ISA Transfers not as easy as they should be ...
In response to Martin's highlight in September I tried to transfer the sum in a Safeway ISA (run by Abbey) to First Direct. I sent the forms in September but didn't hear anything until November when FD called to say they couldn't do anything because I had to give Abbey confirmation that I wanted the transfer to go ahead. I…

Selling PEPs and ISAs
I have PEPs and ISAs with about 10 different companies. Durinf the late 90s my husband and I openned a new PEP each year with a different company. We read the papers, took a view and openned new products. Don't put all your eggs in one basket - we certainly didn't. We now receive enough annual reports to recycle a rain…

Isa & Interest
I have an online savings account paying monthly interest but since I'm a tax payer I know it would make more sense to put my money in an ISA. If I was to open a Halifax Isa account now paying 5% yearly, would I get the full 5% on whatever I put in in april or would I only get a part of it ..calculated on how long I have…

Isa Providers with trasck record for consistantly high rates
I have purchased fixed rate Isas from the Portman over the past three years. The latest have a transfer fee. How can I find out which providers have offered consistantly high rates so I can move my Isas somewhere where I don't feel the need to constantly watch rates, even if this means I won't always get the top rate.…

Newbie Cash ISA question
Hi Guys, Have a question about Isas i wasnt quite clear on, I realise that each person can invest (save) £3K of cash in an isa per year, so what happens at the end of the year? I assume that its a good idea for every tax payer to have a £3K isa each year, so you will want to renew the ISA at the end of the year. What im…

How much to invest in monthly ISA to cover £340k ISA mortgage?
Any websites offer guidance on this? I can use the allowances for both my wife and I but not sure what level of monthly investment is considered best practice on a 25 year mortgage to cover this sort of sum. I'm thinking to use a number of equity based ISAs.

Educating the Halifax
After watching last years "top rated" Intelligent Finance cash ISA dwindle down the charts, I put on my rate tart hat and dragged Mrs Camelopardis down to the Halifax. Once in the door, I was pounced upon by a "welcome team". "How can we help?", they beamed. "We'd like to transfer our ISA's into your Saver Direct account…
