Finding decent taps?
We have just moved and the previous owners had a very expensive bathroom refit three years ago. We can see the taps are corroding, bubbles from under the chrome. We will replace them but how do i make sure we buy decent taps, are there any good makes? The existing taps have no name but a symbol like two chain links on them.

Ceiling spot lights in a bungalow bathroom
Evening all. So have been getting a few quotes on getting my bungalow bathroom refitted and a job we want done in there on top of a new suite and tiles is to have spotlights in the ceiling and it plastered smooth. It’s currently textured with just a standard light bulb fitting. Now something I’ve only just thought of when…

Underfloor heating for a new kitchen-- cost
Hello We are building an extension and fitting a full new kitchen. This includes flooring etc so whatever floor we choose, it will be newly laid. Is there a rough estimate of how much underfloor heating would cost per square meter?

Guarantees for work done
we are buying a property which has had work done on it over the past few years, E.g. tanking, velux windows, guttering. The vendor has given us copies of the guarantees - do we need to get these put in our names or will the address of the property suffice?

Altering garden drainage, how?
We have a single small drain in our garden, which takes all the rear gutter water, garden water and kitchen waste water. I’ll describe it badly, but it goes further down past the side exit pipe, leaving a pit at the base maybe 200m deep which can never drain as it’s below the exit pipe. As you can imagine, even with a…

Outer porch door, inwards or outwards opening?
The existing house door is going to be ripped out and I'll have a brick porch built around it. So I have a somewhat of a blank slate. My neighbours house is about 4ft higher than mine because of the slope of the hill we are on, our narrow driveways run between the houses and they have a short retaining wall in the middle of the drive because of the height difference.
