Ballcock trouble
Fitted a new ballcock and arm in the small central heating expansion tank in loft as the overflow was dripping. This has not solved the problem and the dripping is constant when central heating is on. Cost of scaffolding?
Need to paint facias of mine and neighbours house. Tried to use ladder yesterday but the gap between homes is just over a metre which in turn made the ladder angle difficult to climb.I guess the only solution is to use a tower, scaffolding, or get someone in to do it. Which of these is the cheapest please?

Sky TV and Freesat
Instead of paying the one-off fee of £150 to join up to Freesat, could I take out a year's subscription to Sky and then go on to Freesat at the end of the year? i.e. if I cancelled the Sky subscription would I be allowed to keep the dish and box and would this equipment be enabled to receive the Freesat channels?

security lights, how hard to fit?
Id imagine that fitting it to the wall is easy, its the power connection that is going to be hard. How have you guys managed it? Is there any security lights you can get that are solar powerd ? Basicly i want somthing on the front and the back that will light up whenever there is movement within a certain distance.

Cleaning tiles
I have tiling on all walls in my bathroom (not just the 'wet' walls). I want to get them back to a shiny and gleaming finish. What is the best way of doing this apart from elbow grease? On the wet walls I usually use limescale remover then wash down however this is not so easy on the dry walls. Thanks SB

Polystyrene film on hall wall
I am stripping the hall just now and uncovered an odd area on the outside external wall.When I stripped the paper off there is a thin film of polystyrene sheeting over the corner, under which is an area with black blotches on it. The hall or house has never smelt of damp. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas about this?
