Inheritance or Not??
My half brother has just been informed that his late father who passed away about 10 years ago has left property. The property is now empty and has been since his death. It was investment property which my brother helped him renovate at the time. There was no mortgage on them. The problem here is his fathers name is not on…

Chippenham & Swindon Areas
Anyone know where the good areas are to live around Swindon and Chippenham? We're thinking about renting in either of those areas as the rents seem to be more affordable than further down the M4 towards Reading etc. I know Reading and Berkshire very well but not much about Swindon and Chippenham. Thanks for any replies.

What is this worth
hi I know this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string question" but what would you reckon a new build house bought in Jan 1997 for £300k is worth today. From what i can see of the pictures it still has all the original bathroom and kitchen fittings, just had a lick of paint. Up for £795k which seems way over the top…

Hi all, I'm thinking of putting in an offer for a house in London which backs onto a tube line. The house itself is perfect and the only compromise is the noise from the tube and i'm trying to weigh up my options. Building a new home?
I know this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string " question, but how much would it cost me to build a house? I would be able to do very little of the work, other than decorating it, which would make it more expensive. I have searched the web but can't find even a ballpark figure. I would be after a 2 floor, 3 bed…

Tenant referencing: How much were you asked to pay?
I'm serious about two rental properties, on with different agents. One agent wants £99 and the other wants £200 for 'referencing'. Why such a variation? Is it just me or does anybody else object to paying for this? If the landlord wants to check my credentials then he can pay for it himself! I do a search online and I can…

Flat mate websites?
What do you make of those flat mate finder websites, such as SpareRoom.co.uk, or FlatMateClick.co.uk? I'm looking to move out, but can't afford to rent a flat on my own, and don't really have any friends who are looking for a new flat. It seems to me a good way of finding a flat to share, at reduced rates. Is it reliable?…
