Do we sell and rent, as we can't find the house to buy?
This is my first time at trying this, so hope it makes sense. We are currently trying to sell and move to a different part of the city, and we've got an offer on our property, but can't find one we can afford yet that meets our criteria in the area we want. What we're trying to decide is should we just sell our place, and…

The right price to sell your property
I believe that the right price to sell a property,is the price that the market reacts at.... and realistically pricing it in the first instance saves time and money. Example: property at £200,000 and within say 2 weeks no viewings (but you are prepared to move down on the price by 10% ). If you really want to sell the…

Private renting, slugs help!
I have lived in this privately rented property for two years and the whole time we have had slugs all over the ground floor. During the day you never, ever see them but at night they come out from wherever they hide and creep about the ground floor. I have tried beer traps, salt, slug pellets and slug powders (have treated…

Ltd Company advantages - disadvanages
I am trying to work out if its worth me forming a company and selling my 2 BTL properties to it (I own 100% no mortgage) instead of me owning them. The reason I want to do this is to simplify my life and myself having simple easy book keeping and self assessment every year. The disadvantages I can see are paying 10% tax on…

Changing from Occupier to Buy To Let Mortgage.
After having occupied our house for just over a year on an owner occupier mortgage I had a change of job which took me to another part of the country. My wife and I decided to rent in the area of my new job and let our house. It is likely that we shall return to the area where our house is in 3 to 4 years' time and take…

Rent book
Just a quick question. My tenant wants to pay me by direct debit weekly, but I have just read that by law I must provide a rent book because they are paying weekly not monthly. Surely this can't be necessary. Will I have to go to the property to fill in a rent book when the payment comes into the bank.???

When people STR what costs do you take into account?
for example, although I always said I would NEVER rent anywhere, and it is unlikely that I would, I am one to keep my options open. My flat is on the market and I would like to sell and the buy at the same time, I have seen some flats that I would like and am worried that I'll lose them the longer mine stays on the market.…

Lingering sellers - worth pursuing?
We've completed today on a house, at 2.00pm. I've not been able to pick up the keys as I've been at work but a relative who livs around the corner has just popped over and someone was still there finishing packing! Some excuse about the other property not going through until 3.00pm. I am not moving into the house now…

Take house off market and rent out?
Ok the scenario is that my grandma sadly died earlier this year. Her house was left in the Will to my mum & her sister. The house has been on the market now for around a couple of months with only 1 viewer so far. Anyway, today she has received a call saying that someone is wanting to rent the house but needs an answer…

How do I find out when property added to Rightmove?
I'm sure I've seen it on here, but seem to have a higher than normal dippy factor today :o I've seen a house I really like, in a place near to where OH works instead of miles away like we are now, with a garden for DS instead of nasty concrete yard... Also, I've reported landlord of next door property because damp is…

Buyers strange request. Is she a fraudster?
Hi folks. About six weeks ago I accepted an offer on my house (much lower than I wanted!) I know she is buying it as an investment along with several others from the same estate agents and this suited me fine. Today my agent rang to inform me that the buyer wants me to change MY solicitor to one of her choice! I can't…
