When is it 'the right time?'
Hi all. Can't do a search for this as i don't know how to word it. Or where to put it. I have thought for a while about using the collaterol in our house to buy a cheap rundown (ish) property and doing it up myself (ala Homes Under The Hammer) but with the ups and downs and this and that, when is, if there is, the right…

Council tax - will they get me?
Sorry for the dramatic title. Bit of a storm in a teacup really. My housemate (who, incidentally, refuses to pay her share of the bills) has told my g/f that she intends to tell the council that I've been working from Jan - April and that I should have been paying council tax (I am a student again in May). She says we got…

Query on deposit and lack of inventory...
Hi all, Just got a quick one for you. If a landlord was to make a deduction from a deposit and no inventory was ever made, I am led to believe that this would not stand up in court as there's no proof of the condition of the property prior to the tenants moving in. However, if the property was a brand new conversion and…

Whats the name of this act?
When I took out my mortgage with HSBC 3 or 4 years ago my soon to be ex-wife signed a disclaimer form that made it so she had no legal claim to the property should the house be respossed or if I recall correctly sold, meaning if the house was no longer mine she couldn't sit in the house and claim to have rights. I got told…

"it's different this time" favourite bull quotes
The debate has been raging on this forum for years and finally it is now looking almost certain that the bears have been right all along whilst the blinkered bubble blinded bulls foolishly carried on feeding the frenzy. For the past few years my whole family have implored me to buy and couldn't understand my refusal to…

We've sold our house as we've recently relocated from Suffolk to Gloucestershire and have the completion money sitting in the bank.
