USA car hire - breakdown insurance or AA
Hi Whenever we go abroad an hire a car we take the extra breakdown insurance. Someone has mentioned that we don't need to as we have AA cover in the UK, does anyone know if this is correct? Also, as we use a well known hire company, surely there shouldn't be a breakdown charge as this would imply the car was not well…

Green Motion Car Hire charged pre-authorisation £300
Hi, last week, I hired a car with Green Motion, Heathrow (through Atlas Choice). I was informed that a £300 pre-authorisation would be put on my Credit Card, which I took to mean a charge that would be effective in the event of damage to the vehicle. I returned the car and was told everything was fine. Anyway, I checked my…

Cheap flights from Dublin...what's the catch?
I have noticed that there are a number of flights from Dublin to where I want to go, almost half the price as UK. I guess this is due to the APD and the highest taxes in the world that are imposed on UK travelers. Will booking return flights from Dublin mean that I avoid these UK taxes? If not, is there any way around it?
