We need profits to fund wind farms, says Eon chief
'In the future there would be a 'disconnect' between the wholesale price suppliers pay for gas and what they charge customers to use it, he added. 'If wholesale gas prices have fallen by a third, it does not mean retail prices will go down by the same amount.'' Here start the excuses for not passing on the drop in oil…

Should I stay or should I go?
Anyway, forgetting the song, I switched to British Gas a couple of months ago (their Click energy 6 tariff) according to their website, but I thought it was 5. Anyway, is it best to stay with them, or switch now everyone's prices have gone up. I realise there could be a decrease in January, but one would assume if one…

EDF Energy direct debit option payment warning
Back in about July, I decided to pay EDF by direct debit. I have actually three electricity bills for one house. Two of them I've moved to a cheaper supplier, but the third one, for a garage to the house is always very very low so much so that with their estimated billing and meter readings in my last bill they owed me…

British Gas Fixed price August 2010
Have been on BG fix and Fall since 2006. Just received a letter headed Fixed Price Auguast 2010. The letter says British Gas have bought an advance supply of gas and electric up to August 2010, and have automatically put me on to this scheme at a 4% premium to their standard tariff, but I can phone and cancel. Several…

Smart fridges for the future
I was listening to iPM on Radio 4 and they were discussing when we get power surges during commercial breaks when we all make our cups of tea. In the future instead of the National Grid having to call up on extra reserves of energy we will use stored energy in our fridges. These fridges will have a device installed in them…

Very High Night Units on Economy 7?
Hi all, like a lot of you it seems, we live in an all electric flat with NSH and Economy 7. I have just checked the meter and it seems that we are using a massive amount of night units, and I can't think why. We have not had the night storage heaters on at all since the start of the year and make sure all appliances other…

EON and trying to advise relative!
I cannot find clear details of EONs standard gas tariff anywhere on their site. In particular I want to know how many kWh are charged at the primary rate, either par day, quarter or year, and if like NPower shaping is used. The actual tariffs would be appreciated if availablr. Adreess is in Kent, the old Seeboard area.

Are We Really Tied In To Our Energy Suppliers?
My wife and her best friend bought a launderette in September. The previous owner was getting a great deal on the gas and electricity and planned to transfer that deal into their name when they took over. He was unable to do this so at the last minute they had to take the best deal they could get with limited time…

We have teamed up with E.ON to offer you peace of mind with this great energy deal!!!
E.ON has has teamed up with Age Concern to offer a great energy deal, or so we're told. Since the more vulnerable consumers out there may take this at face value because of the link with Age Concern, does anyone know if E.ON's rates through this deal are in fact preferential? My gut feeling is that, rather than getting…
