Had to start this thread to show it can be done!

We fully insulated (had cavity so did loft to 270mm)in the summer and we watch our use but that is all - we are not cold or sitting in the dark. We have energy saving bulbs in those places we can get away with it but normal bulbs elsewhere. We have shown the children our energy tracker graph so they can understand why we are trying to save and they learned to be careful too.

We joined imeasure as well two months ago and the MSE carbon Club to keep a weekly eye on our rating - we are B and 12/58 on the Carbon Club.

We were paying £80 a month dual fuel (large 3 bed detached, 4 people - we are often out in day). The company has contacted us today to say it is being reduced to £68 a month dual fuel due to lower usage.

So pleased it has worked.
