Time to knuckle down
I've just signed up to the forums but have been reading and lurking for months. As a single parent with a 20 hour a week term time job, money is quite tight and I do worry about my debt a lot. Before meeting my ex I had no debt but I was a crazy love sick idiot. Now I'm left with a CC with just under £2000 remaining, £200…
One step at a time
Hi . I had a diary on the savings board and I was doing great. I split with my long term partner and things were going even better regarding me saving . Then I lost control . I have relapsed with my mental health and I'm in more debt than I have ever been .. with no savings :( I need to get it back under control .. one…
Flo's Debt Free Diary
Hi there, After reading through many of the debt free diaries, I feel brave enough to start my own. In many ways 2015 has been one of the best years of my life. I finally fulfilled my dream of getting a full time ‘adult job’ (not that I’m implying some jobs are more worthy than others) which meant for pretty much the first…
Debt free by the end of 2016!
Done some working out today and taken decisive action to up my DD repayment from £150 to £650. I have £8100 to pay back on a CC which is interest free for 36 months but want to it back sooner so we can start saving for a new house. 650 a month should see it paid by December latest. Maybe even October if we get a 1k payment…
Mrs P's Diary - The Final Push
Its been quite a few months since I have posted anything on my diary - so I thought I would start a shiny new one. A bit about myself - I am the wrong side of 50, married with one son who is in his second year at university. DH and I both work. I am aiming to be almost debt free by December 2017. I want to count my…
Hubby's away time to save save save!
hello! I am an old lurker with a new username. My hubby has been sent away this week overseas so instead of crawling under the duvet and hiding fir 4 months I've decided to focus my attention on saving money and getting the blasted credit cards paid off, it's the second time this year that he's been away and the last time…
Ciao Credit Card! My DFW Diary
Hello fellow MSE-ers, I’ve been lurking around this forum for a couple of months now and thought it was about time to start a diary of my own. I had my lightbulb moment in September, realising I had credit card debt of about £5,000 – spent on living a lifestyle I couldn’t afford – so booze, food and clothes. Or maybe not…
13 months to freedom (sort of)
Not a very inspirational title, I know :) So I've made a great start on the NSD and Xmas 2015 challenges... but that is not enough. I need to stay focused and on track to kill ALL my credit card debt by December 2016. I like bullet lists so here we go.... my debt-related goals for the next 13 months: * Do a SOA - by end of…
Dont think of cost, think of value
Hello all! I have been dipping in and out of MSE for about a year but not really changed my habits much, I thought if I started a diary then it may help me become more focussed on my goal of reducing my debt, changing my spending habits and it may even provide somebody with a little entertainment! So, I am 29, I have a…
