Do I need to get a credit card or is there another way of doing this?
I am off to NZ on a work trip in about a month. Although the hotel has been booked, I will need to pay for it and then reclaim, ditto my other travel expenses. The awkward thing is that I don't have a credit card - when we moved to the UK three years ago, I decided to do without, and just use a debit card. I have not…

When exactly do I have to repay to avoid interest with a 0% purchases card?
Hi, I have a Post Office Platinum card, which I got to take advantage of their no commission on foreign currency purchases. It has a 3 month 0% on purchases period. However, it's not really clear (to me at least) exactly when I must repay off my total balance to avoid paying any interest. Of course, I am making minimum…

DCA chasing but debt reduced
Hi. I have a debt collector chasing me for the outstanding balance on an old credit card. I've recently had the charges refunded to me, which accounts for about a third of the debt. Should I expect the debt collector to adjust their corresponding balance? I was then hoping to request a settlement figure against the…

I went on today to check, my payment is now a day late, so will get charged. Will the bank have a way of telling that I had tried to pay this…

Deciding on Credit Limit
Hi, I'm applying for my first credit card which I intend to use just to pay for petrol to get used to using one and to build up a credit score. The card I'm looking at is asking me to choose a limit between £500-£10000. No guarantee that I'll get what I ask for, but how should I decide what to set my limit at? Are there…

Unauthorised Credit Card Charges
Hello! I recently booked a room through a well known 'late room specialist' and provided my credit card details, as required, to finalise the booking. All went swimmingly with the room; I arrived, stayed and paid the relevant amount in cash on departure. A couple of weeks later, however, I noticed on my credit card…

Question about my Card
Hello, I am sorry if i am asking a question answered many times already. One year ago I took out an M&S Credit card. It had a 0% facility for almost a year. I spent around £5,000 on the card for a one off purchase. I then cut the card up and easily made the payments each month. I always paid the minimum payment each month…

Any experience of Bank Of America Credit Cards?
There's an article in the Mail On Sunday today by a woman whose credit rating is dreadful. Apparently she got turned down by several lenders but was finally given a credit card by the Bank Of America - with a £10,000 spending limit! Sounds too good to be true, but why would she write lies? It wasn't an advert of any kind,…
