Pay As You Go Credit Card?
I think I heard these are available? What I want to do it give someone some money that they can spend on a certain thing and once the money is gone then that's it. Cash is a pain to administer and setting up a new current account seems overkill. Can anyone advise me on PayGo CCs?

HSBC have charged me. What can I do?
Fellow MSE's! I've had my credit card with HSBC for over 15 years. I always pay off my balance each month. I always try to allow the '4 working days' for payment to clear, but no more/no less wherever possible! They have generally taken the money within 2-3 days. I did the same last month paying my balance of around £500 a…

Annual Fee - Lloydstsb CC
I note from the free MONEYWISE magazine (thanks Martin!) that Lloydstsb has introduced an anuual fee for the 1% of CC customers who pay off their balances in full each month and don't use their card regularly. The article states that even if you start using your card frequently you will still be charged the fee. It also…

Credit Card Charges
I wondered if Credit Cards were also subject to the same conditions as babj charges as my statements show a 25gbp per month card protection fee which works out at around 300gbp per year. On top of that there are charges when I withdraw funds from other banks yet those banks have already charged me for using them - not to…

Can you request a lower or zero credit limit on Egg Money?
Has anybody ever obtained a reduced or no credit limit on an Egg Money account? I've decided that one way to control spending might be to make far more of my transactions electronically, as this is becoming far more acceptable for small amounts these days; mainly because of Chip & Pin. I want to do this because i've…

Co-Op clear credit card
Just found out today that there is no fee for doing cash advance on a clear credit card. So I was wondering would there be any drawbacks to me drawing out the full amount that could be allowed on cash allowance every month, and then paying it off in full? Planning on using the 59 days interest period to put the money in a…

Mint and Egg positive (+ve) balances
If my Mint and Egg credit cards have a significant positive balance (e.g. NOT using the credit limit), what approach can I use to get that cash without any fees? I'm happy to close the Mint card, if that happens would they send a cheque of the balance? Egg (green) card I'd like to keep - would phoning them create a BACS…

Losing my Egg Money card
I appear to have misplaced my wallet. I'm pretty sure it is in the house somewhere, but a thorough spring clean later there's still no sign of it. So I decided to block the cards just in case. I called Egg to put a block on the Egg Money card and was surprised how complicated the whole thing seemed to be, so thought I'd…

Barclaycard debt and death
Had a letter today from Barclaycard regarding my late mother's debt with them. It goes on to say that they can use money in her current and savings accounts with Barclays to offset this debt. Can they do this? Her estate is busy going through Probate. It also says that they will start charging interest in 3 months if the…

Hi all, Just a quick question - when doing a balance transfer (M&S card in particular) is it possible to transfer an outstanding balance from somebody else's credit card to it. i.e. would they ask who the card belongs to or just ask for a card number? (or would it even matter?) My fiance may be going for the M&S card (i…

Egg Money - increase refused
Anyone tried recently to get a credit increase from Egg for their Money card? Short version: For 3 months in the past 6 I've used up 65-85% of the credit limit. The card is paid off in full every month without fail for coming up to 2 years. There are 2 of us using the account. I'd like an increased 'buffer-zone' 'just in…
