Taken from: http://www.barclays.co.uk/Helpsupport/Personaloverdraftratesandcharges/P1242557964206 If I am reading this correctly, it is a way of getting you to agree to extortionate charges. CCJ In Credit Report
Firstly, apologies, I couldn't work out which was the best forum for this. Background: In 2006, HMRC decided I owed them some tax which I didn't. They wrote to me at my old address, which of course I never received, and subsequently I ended up with a CCJ. When I found out I had a CCJ, I spoke to HMRC, confirmed that I…

Answering "how long have you had your account?" question
I currently bank with RBS and the account will be transferred to Santander later this year. When asked the question, "how long have you had your account?" does the clock reset to zero on transfer? My plan is to open a NatWest account and transfer all my dealing to it before RBS dump me. If I do this can I then claim to…

Am I the only person sufferring this? Since the "transition" from A&L to Santander, the sort codes and account numbers on our accounts have changed. Need to avoid a currency exchange!

Speed of receipt of int'l wire transfers - Santander vs. HSBC
I have a monthly standing order for a relatively large amount of money from a US bank to my UK current account. (I live in the UK.) The US bank converts dollars to pounds before I send it, so there is no issue with currency exchange on the UK side. The money is scheduled to leave my US account on the 10th of every month.…

Eligible for "upgrade" on Lloyds Basic Bank Account
I went in for a fairly unrelated reason (my mobile number still does not work with internet banking so I can't authorise any new payment recipients) and casually brought up an upgrade. The man tapped through, asked how long I'd been working and looked at what looked like a summary of my ins and outs per month, then said I…

Santander - why go there?
Anyone who reads this forum even occasionally will have noticed that Santander get the worst feed back, far more than any other bank/building society. I know people who bank with them and their opinions are much the same as those of the forum users. The only time I go into one of their branches is if I am with someone who…
