Value Added Accounts - What's the best?
Hiya all! I currently have a Lloyds TSB Premier account and it costs £17 per month for it. It is a joint account also so we are both covered. Are there any other accounts out there that still offer the mobile phone insurance, card protection, AA cover with homestart, worldwide travel insurance and an interest free…

Refused In Credit Santander Account
Hi guys, recently I applied online for a In Credit account to take benefit from the £100 incentive only to find out I was refused the account. Thinking about it I know where I went wrong, I included in the application that my earnings meet the minimum threshold but I did not tick the option to declare my earnings would…

Barclays instant access to cheques
Does anyone know how the Barclays instant access feature works when you pay in cheques? It says on their website that when you pay in a cheque you can get instant access to the funds without waiting for it to clear, but how exactly does it work? Do you need to request the service at the time you pay the cheque in?

Banks can take your savings?
I'm in a complete quandary. I saw on yesterday's news that banks can take any savings you have to pay bills or reduce your overdraft and they don't even have to tell you? When I bought this house 5 months ago I took out a slightly larger mortgage than was needed to buy the house (but still a smaller mortgage by £28k than I…

Name Removal on Joint Bank Account
Hi, I seem to have the reverse of a problem that most posts of this nature are about. I ran up a debt on an overdraft facility on my personal current account. After I got married, my wife and I decided that this should be our joint account, so we added her name to it. After a lot of other problems I am now dealing with my…

To Santander or not to Santander?
That is the question. I'm currently looking at opening an ISA, Current Account, a Regular Savings Account, and maybe even a Savings Account with Santander because they are all top rates. But I see they get hammered in terms of complaints and customer service, I'm concerned because I'll be going away soon for at least 1…

Living for a month off £100
For the rest of September my budget is quite tight (£100). I've covered direct debits, rent and my bus pass already, and my father has said he will cover an emergency if one crops up. Essentially I need to know (if it's possible to) how to make it though the month on the £100 for consumables (preferably including buying…

Santander/A+L overdraft being cut by two thirds
Hello I've posted about this before, however, now I've actually managed to get somewhere. To recap, I transferred my Natwest current account (OD limit £2400) to the Alliance + Leicester about a year ago, with a deal that they'd match the old overdraft limit. Now I've received a letter saying that they're cutting the limit…

ATM question
Hi, I arrived at a cash point with my toddler, and before I pressed anything at all or inserted my card, he reached up and pressed the enter button. The machine then asked if I wanted to make an emergency transaction, I can't remember the exact wording but it definitely included the word 'emergency'. What does this mean?…

Lloyds TSB sales people
I was invited to have a chat with my bank today. Let's go back a few months when I first deposited some money with them. They called me in and suggested an easySaver was my best option. When I later checked on line I found a eSaver was much better so I switched. My salesperson today said that he couldn't recommend the…
