Fortunately I do not owe £46,000 to the taxman but I know someone who does. As far as I am aware they have no way to pay this debt. What is the likelihood of this case, prison? Bankruptcy? Can this debt be written off?

I phoned the Account in Bankruptcy as I had not heard anything. I was told that my application had been awarded on 10th June!
