Discharge certificate

Hi there, I hope someone can help me with this query. I am discharged and have been for about 4 years but have delayed getting an official copy of the certificate because it costs so much and I never seemed to have £100 to spare! I am now unemployed and taking advantage of all the benefits that brings such as free eye tests and dentistry etc and I wondered if I would be able to get hold of a discharge certificate at a lower rate as I have no income apart from benefit. Please does anybody know whether this is possible? Thanks in anticipation

mmmm, still seeking something witty to be my auto-signature . . . so this will have to suffice for now

You have to fill in form EX160A if I remember rightly and you will get the certificate for free. There is a link to this in the Bankruptcy Help sticky, click on the link in my sig.
Why do you feel you need it though?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

That's great news, thank you very much indeed.
I really want to clean up my credit files - I would like to get a decent bank account and no-one will give it to me whilst my credit records show undischarged bankruptcy.mmmm, still seeking something witty to be my auto-signature . . . so this will have to suffice for now0 -

You mat still have difficulty with getting one with an overdraft but it is always worth a try.
Have you looked at the the Co-op Cashminder? Internet and phone banking, DD's and SO's, Visa debit card. You can open it over the phone and if you need to deposit any money then you can through any Post Office. No overdraft or cheque book though.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi there
I found the co-op bank to be one of the most unco-operative banks around. They bounced a direct debit for £17.00 because they said there was insufficient funds, closed my account without warning and then proceeded to send me a cheque for £40! Mmmm . . . still trying to work that one out
Thanks for the form info - that looks like being the answer for me.mmmm, still seeking something witty to be my auto-signature . . . so this will have to suffice for now0
