If you want something like a sleeping bag get inside a duvet cover. However as above a wool duvet which can look quite thin are amazing at keeping you warm in winter, but not overly hot in summer.1 -

Read the policy. But most insurers will terminate a policy if they pay out for a total loss = write the car off.1
