I really don't think you could argue that your consumer rights would cover the safety of that data, as it's considered standard practice in industries that rely on data to have it backed up…1 -

What would you have said if Currys diagnosis was that the SSD was fried and all the data had been lost? I've not looked at their repair terms but I'll be amazed if they accept any liability…3 -
