Hi
I am going to move to Poland soon for 2 years, and i want to know how i get sky tv abroad.
Can i use my old sky box, and just get a viewing card?
Are there any companies which specialise in this?
Regards,
Arfhur

I dont think you can legally get sky abroad. We looked into for our house in Turkey. We would have to have had a 3 metre dish, brought our box/card over from UK and carried on paying monthly DD without letting sky knowing we were using it abroad
It may be totally different for Poland - so i dont know if this will help

Yes to using your old Sky Box, it depends on which card you mean, a Freesatfromsky one is £20 ( one off payment ).
You may well find that the dish will need to be large !!!!!0 -
I read it was 3m if i wanted ITV or BBC. But could get away with 1m for the rest.
So did you sky tv work in turkey?0 -
3 Metres is one huge dish, it will need to very securely fixed and of high quality, due to wind factors, well over a £1000 for a properly installed system, I would guess.;)0

Looking at this I would probably think at least 3M, sig strength tends to drop off rapidly toward the edges of the footprint.

We never bothered in the end - the 3m dish would have swallowed our garden - would have also set us back £1200:eek:
But know it does work as we pay for our friends subscription for his bar (he has a 3m dish)0 -
Anyone tried this? http://www.sattube.com/ It offers loads of channels anywhere in the world using sat dish and PC.0

So if i had multi-room in the uk, could i take the multi-room box and card abroad and it would work?
3m is a massive dish, 100kg in weight too. I was told the same, but live in a flat so its impossible.
I really miss sky sports, not expat bars here either.0 -
