Laptop problems

My Dell Inspirion is usually a robust lap top. However after working week, I booted up the other day and noticed one of the keyboard characters failed, followed by another, another until nothing worked. The mouse was good so I attempted to open a file, no go. Admin mode managed it Could this be a virus or malware please?

corrupt profile? Corrupt registry? Corrupt disk? Duff disk? All profile related. Admin works and pbobby does not, it is profile corruption, probably caused by one of the above

    windows 10?

presuming it is 10, you want a dos box ( cmd ) and in there type osk which gives an on-screen keyboard. Think you are flogging a dead horse

you want as admin to do an sfc /scannow
chdsk c: will read on check
rolling back to a last known snapshot may be helpful but you may also loose work and installed s/w from that point onwards?

Think there is also a DSM command to check files too.

You really need to get you wanted stuff off, as it might be a reinstall

do a smart check too https://superuser.com/questions/29240/how-can-i-read-my-hard-drive-s-smart-status-in-windows-7
