This card doesn't seem to be widely known. It's for people working in the emergency services, NHS and armed forces and HMP. It costs a fiver for 3 years, there are a variety of places to use it, (my favourites ones are Bon March and Frankie and Bennies)

interesting, but there isn't anything I can see without registering about how much discount is offered? Also, if its not widely known, surely there would be difficulty in presenting in shops etc as they would never have seen one before. What is your experience?
    Don't forget quidco/topcashback - I do!

My mum has this through the NHS (i have an NHS card but havent signed up to the blue light) she just says shes got an NHS discount card when she gets to the till. Generally i think its 10% off in most places that accept it but then again, ive only seen her use it in a handful of places. (BHS, New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Nandos, F&B's). But from what ive seen, it just the same as showing the normal NHS card but with a few more specific deals, offers and discounts

When I first went to Bon Marche they hadn't seen one before, but found the code eventually, and not had any problems since.
I used it a couple of times at the cinema and they recognised it straightaway.
I have used it on-line for fragrance direct, Bulldog and BM without any problem (plus Nectar points with BM &#128512.

I've signed up to this recently and found some useful discounts. Some of the discounts you can find easily elsewhere, but I think some of them are quite exclusive. There's a review about the card here.

My sister has one of these (works as a nurse), I don't know what all the offers are but remember the ones she mentioned seemed pretty similar to what you can get if you are a registered student and use Unidays and NUS Extra.

If you are in the NHS (or for anyone in the country who can be bothered to join free as a public member of their local Foundation Trust), there is also the larger Health Service Discounts website, which is free but only offers discounts online and by phone rather than in store.
