Where do babies come from?

That dreaded question has arisen! My sprogletina asked it this afternoon and without having an answer ready, all i could say was mummy lays an egg :rotfl: i've had to convince wifey to sit in the dog basket or as it is called now, the birth nest and pretend to lay an egg. I'll probably pop a chicken egg in there to make it look like the mission is complete.

How did you deal with this question?

I was honest, haha. I told the sproglettes that daddy plants a seed in mummy. They are only 6 and 4, so seem content with that, but they have been told the basics.

My friends told me I was wrong telling them as what if they want to go "practice" in the playground at playtime!

I got away with this lightly. Her dad had another child to someone else so they used a book to show the stages she was at. ie this week the baby looks like this etc.

But she knew it was from sex early on, none of this a stalk comes along.....
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

My sprogletina is just like my wife and would want to know every minor detail if i told the truth. Mummy laying an egg is close enough to the truth i think. She's going to be very upset when i tell her the egg mummy laid has been stolen by crows :rotfl:

    Ahh

    :bdaycake:

Maybe this book might help? It doesn't say what age group it's aimed at but I would guess it's for young children :)

Well, when a mummy and a daddy love each other very much they do a special hug and roll around a bit. The rolling is very important - that's how the baby making spell is cast. It all sounds very unpleasant, I don't know why they do it, especially as when the baby is ready to be born the mummy has to have her belly cracked open like an egg to reach the baby growing compartment.
Or at least that's how I thought it worked when I was 5 :rotfl:

I cant remember how i thought they were made. I do remember being told to go out and play most Sunday mornings so mum and dad could wrestle. I actually used to believe they were wrestling :rotfl:cunning pair, played on my love of WWF so they could have a Sunday session!
