O/S Daily Wednesday 31st December 2014
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Still dark, but looks very cold and frosty.
DH and myself up and enjoying first peaceful cuppas, I’ve just eaten my brekkie also. DS1 and DS2 still in their pits.
Dinner last night was HM spag bol, all eaten and enjoyed. Tonight I’m not sure as not planned very well and am trying to use up what we have before buying more – thinking I will have to stop off on the way home from work today to buy some chicken breasts/pieces or something like that, then do chicken stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, will also do a small potato bake (still have the potatoes sliced in the bowl in the fridge) will then just do some carrots, peas and gravy to go with it. If I can get one I’m going to get a ready to roast from frozen chicken joint also, then I’ll have something I can cook tomorrow depending on what we are doing, I do need to buy some more veg though as I only have brussels left!
I’m only working today until lunchtime, so will get home and try to crack on with my normal jobs, I’m not going to do too much as I’m working Saturday morning whilst DH is at his meeting, it will be a really long day for him as he’ll leave home by 7am ish, then after his morning meeting there’s another in the afternoon – which is not likely to finish until after 4pm – so by the time he gets home I’m expecting it to be after 6pm, so I’m going to do my food shopping Saturday afternoon after I come out of work, then may do some housework or cooking when I get back from doing that.
Hope everyone has a good New Years Eve x
Take care x
Keep safe and well x

Morning all. Hope all is well for you all. I have just been doing the end of month finances and. amazingly, despite all the extra spending over the last month my totals agree with the banks! January must be a frugal spending month. I have so much in the freezers (in the garage) that I should be able to keep food bills low.
Peaceful morning this morning. DH still in bed and no DGDs sleeping till Thursday night. Yesterday was hectic in between having to referee arguments, reprimand the cheater at games they were playing and make final decision on what tv progs they should watch. DH took them all for a walk up to the moors at lunchtime so I could make a big lasagne and garlic bread for them to come back to. Considering we still have lying snow and frozen ground I was surprised to see them come back covered in mud!! DH, in his wisdom, had agreed when they wanted to come back through the farm. The "mud" was mainly cow flap!!
Anyway peaceful day ahead. No plans other than a quick trip later to my DBs to pick up our monthly sausage order! Mmm they really are yummy sausage and the DGDs will be happy to find sausage and mash (their favourite meal) on the menu when they are back to sleep Thursday!
Have a good New Years Eve everybody, whether you are out revelling with the masses or having a peaceful night at home. I think we are doing the latter!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

I'm glad your DD is OK Hester xx
I got a bit carried away with my lists, they're far too detailedStill, I've got no excuse to 'accidentally' forget anything now, lol
I listed a few things that could be sorted straight away so I made a start. But I was distracted by Indiana Jones mid-afternoon so I'm a bit behindI'll leave it for now, mr tru has the next two days off and I find it much easier to get on with things when I'm on my own.
We're not doing anything special tonight – I don't like New Year celebrations much. We'll probably watch a film with some snacky food, and record Alan Carr's New Year program because I'll end up falling asleep before it's even started

Morning all!
Happily pottering in Bramble towers this morning. Need to pop out for a few bits later (with a list) so not a NSD today, but I'm super happy because my budgeting has paid off and I will be entering January with a zero cc balance for the first time in 15 years :T
It's so nice to be free of that little bit of niggle for the new year, now if I can only apply what I've learned to my waistline...more proper OS cooking methinks!
Wishing you all a canny day and an enjoyable New Years Eve, we will be standing outside our door later to enjoy all the free fireworks
Here's to a happy and healthy 2015:beer:

Good Morning everyone, markedly warmer here today and cloudy enough to make me think we might get some rain but much moire comfortable than the freezing cold we've had recently. DD and I are going to W8rose this morning as I've run out of several things that are staples and especially eggs as poorly He Who Knows likes scrambled eggs for brekkie when he's poorly.
Nothing planned for tonight other than being ready for the fireworks which I know will really upset the Dockling so I.m planning a night on the sofa to give DH a rest as much as I can. DD returns home tomorrow after lunch and I'm looking forward to getting all the decorations boxed up again and being able to give the whole house a good clean and polish.
I've come to a major decision about 2015 and I've definitely got way too much 'stuff' so I'm going to ruthlessly declutter the whole of our lives and try for a calmer and much quieter home. I'm starting in the kitchen as I'm aware of having things that have been in the cupboard for the 20 years we've been here and not been used so a cull will happen and I'll be better for it.
Happy New Year to each and every one of you for this evening and I wish you all health and happiness in the new year to come, Lyn xxx.0 -

Hello Everyone,
I haven't be sleeping well the past few nights, tonight we have my brother and sister in law round for NYE. This is going to be the last NYE we have in this home, I've been here 12 years renting off my ex. 2015 is going to be the year that we finally buy our own home.
I am a little sad, but excited as well. My brother has asked if we can have a take away curry and watch the fireworks from our balcony, I have a wonderful panoramic view of London, the one thing I will miss.
With the inspiration and motivation of this group, I'm looking to start selling on ebay too, I want to declutter the mounds of stuff we have accumulated and have a fresh new start. I'm thinking of putting all items up for 99p and seeing what happens. the last time I did that with a few dresses of my vintage dresses, I got £200. doubt I will get that for dvds but we shall see.
I wish you all a great NYE and a wonderful 2015, although I spend a lot of my time in the background reading, You are all truly magnificent people and I wish you all the best.

Morning all,
I am another who is in the throes of a major declutter. I have never got to grips with ebay so everything is either being gifted to family or the charity shops. As for my clothes they are so worn and old fashioned they will either be cleaning cloths or thrown.
Lyn, how is docky this morning? I do hope the fireworks are not too bad for you tonight. I was surprised to hear fireworks go off on christmas night this year too.
Brambleberry, congratulations on having zero on your credit card.
My plans for today are to carry on with decluttering all my books and old, old makeup. Then I need to tackle my kitchen cupboards, oh joy!
Dinner tonight is leftover curry from yesterday with rice. Not sure if I will bother to stay up to see in the New Year, I never see anything on tv that appeals.
Incase, I don't get back on here today I want to Wish you all a Happy New Year!

Morning all,
Frosty first thing but some beautiful sunshine
Not sure what we're up to today. DS2 has popped home for a shower and is about to go shopping. DH is having breakfast. He has been struggling, like a lot of people, with this cold/chesty cough thingy that is doing the rounds.
I too am going to have a bit more of a de clutter. We have an exercise machine that needs to go first followed by anything not deemed useful!
I hope you all have a fabulous NYE, whatever you are doing. x0 -

I started using eBay recently to sell a few things. I did it all simply so that I wouldn't have to pay a listing fee, but then I still had to pay Paypal £1.58, so it's kinda put me off a bit. The two things I sold were £3 and £10, so doesn't seem worth it.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
