Tyre Pressure warning light
A few days ago - the tyre pressure warning light lit on my Suzuki Swift - I checked the tyre pressures - all were normal - So I took the car back to the dealers yesterday for a check - they simply unplugged the monitor for 10 minutes to reset it and then plugged it back in !!!
Has anyone got any thoughts on the cause of this ?

Does it stay lit though ?
Mine did - even after a restart (the next day)0 -
It stays lit even after a restart because you have to faff through the menus to delete it. It always happens long enough after I've forgotten the menu presses. The man without a signature.0

Doesn't sound right to me.
Surely if a tyre genuinely deflated and was then pumped back up to the correct pressure it should pick that up based on tpms or abs system (depending on which they use).
It should not just sit there like a lemon forever and ever?0 -
There's a re-calibrate facility on my car. It happened once, I re-calibrated once, it's been fine for years.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

As above, i used to have a Mercedes ML and the blooming thing was always telling me the tyres needed inflating, i forgot how to reset it in the end and so it made the thing completely useless as i just used to ignore it, i lived in the middle of nowhere at the time and so only got it reset if i went into a town where the was a Mercedes dealer (although most of them were completely useless but thats another story).0

How long do TPMS sensors typically last? I had one need replacing after five years, apparently the battery went flat and you can't simply put a new battery in. :wall:0

have you had a wheel off the car recently
with some sars you need to reset the tpms when you take a wheel off or when you adjust the tyre pressure on your car0
