Has anyone else discovered the versatility of plain, ol', sage and onion packet stuffing?

It's virtually for free and yet by itself it can be made into various kinds of sandwich filler/pate (in combination with liver or chicken etc), and as a stiffer mixture represents an excellent vegetarian meatloaf.

I use it to make loads of things simply go further but my latest version is to mix it with cooked chicken, diced bacon and mushrooms and surround it in a puff pastry parcel. Delicioso...

Surely there must be a thread about it somewhere..?

I've not seen a thread but there should be :)
I use it to thicken soups and chicken stews.
I mix it with pork mince to make meat balls .
    I love your ideas too . :)

I use it as a coating for pork fillet its very tasty this way and a little meat goes a long way when its coated in stuffing, even drumsticks taste nicer than with breadcrumbs I also get the 'posh' stuffing in January when the supermarkets are selling it off at reduced prices

I cook a jacket potato and mix the potato with stuffing, cheese and a little bit of butter and then refill the potato.

I use it when I make pulled pork. It adds flavour and thickens the gravy.

I like eating it cold, as a snack, rolled into balls and it's like a falafel.... and then also stuffed into a pitta with a splash of sweet chilli sauce.
  • Use it to pad out minced beef, give it a nice taste.
