I took a trial of the full malwarebytes yesterday I usually use the free one to run manually but keep defender on, should I now disable defender until the free trial is over?
Plus is it worth paying for the full malwarebytes rather than have windows defender or should I just stick to the free malwarebytes and defender?

Which OS do you have? (Windows Defender means different things depending on the OS).
I'm not sure that even the full MBAM is an anti-virus package.0 -

Does that mean you think I should buy the premium version of malwarebytes then or just stick with the free?

I have avast free yes but that doesn't cover malware does it, I always thought you have to have a malware program tooThanx

it does, malware is an overarching term
avast plus free malwarebytes plus windows firewall plus backups should be fine. As suggested in previous threads, when you start piling on layer after layer of security software all doing the same thing, the machine will not run at it's best.!!

Thanks I'm getting myself mixed up with this free trial of malwarebytes anyway so I will just go back to the free one thenThanx

On Windows 7 then Windows Defender is an anti-malware application (like what MalwareBytes does) rather than an anti-virus application (like what Avast does). So Windows Defender should be disabled.
(On Windows 8 then Windows Defender is as much an anti-virus application as anti-malware, and is essentially Microsoft Security Essentials re-badged and tweaked).
If you have Avast (free) and MalwareBytes (free) plus standard Windows firewall then you're basically covered.0
