ACMON Error Failed to prepare Critical file! Chameleon Engine out of service!

a call the techies out there who always come to my rescue, for which i am very grateful.
i get the above message on my laptop asus k52f
please advise regarding this, i have googled but there are so many differing versions as to how to rectify this.
btw, does this have something to do with the in-built camera as well, as that doesn't seem to be functioning as well.

never heard of this one but google is your friend

"You probably have an ASUS brand. Remove the Splendid Video Enhancement application and Reboot. It worked for my same issue... "
