Parkingeye help !

Hi folks
Long time reader, first time poster here...
As per many, I have received a parking eye PCN. Yes I am in the wrong, I parked in a pay/display car park without doing so... To be fair I never left my vehicle or switched the engine off.
Normally I drop the mrs off to pick her son up from the station, she comes back with him and we go. It normally takes 2-3 mins, however this specific week took longer, for whatever reason, i clocked up a longer stay waiting for her.
The PCN has come through with my picture on etc... I was all set to pay until after googling parkingeye i came across all this "ignore" advise and did some further reading.
A lot of people seem to have legitimate claims for ignoring, and whilst what I did was stupid, i am still not keen to pay £60 off to a cowboy company.
Any one able to give any advise?
Thanks in advance!!

Is this in England or Wales ? If so I would appeal then go to popla when it's rejected, the reason is look at my signature you've narrowed yourself down quite specifically, as parking eye monitor this forum the chances are they know who you are, and what advice you've given. They will also take note of what you've said and probably print it out if they do a claim.
Though that is a worst case scenario, for them to comply with pofa 2012 have they given this invoice to you within 14 days of parking? When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Thanks Stroma - I have edited as per your sig.
So i appeal against Parkingeye - they reject, then I go to Popla?
The letter was within 14 days yes.
Part of me just wants to pay, I was in the wrong, i am not sure i have a case in an appeal.0 -
You are not in the wrong. This company cannot fine you. If you ate at a restaurant & left without paying because you thought that your partner had paid (& vice versa) the restaurant couldn't fine you 50X the price of the meal. If you stayed in a hotel & had paid for one night but didn't check out until after another night the most you would owe would be the price of another night's accommodation. They couldn't charge you 20X the room rate as a fine for overstaying. The most that you owe is the price of the parking in that car park for 20 minutes or whatever the length of your stay so less than £1 not a fine of £60.0

The British Parking Association's Code of MalPractice requires the PPC to provide you with "a reasonable grace period to leave" the car park. If you stayed in the car and didn't switch off the engine you may have a reason to report Parking Lie to the BPA for a breach of the code. I believe 15 minutes is the norm so if you left within 15 minutes of entering the car park then get complaining! The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

I received a parking charge notice reminder from PE on the 22/5/13 telling me that " further to the recent Parking charge notice, this parking charge of £85. remains outstanding (this is the only one I've received)!! if I pay by 24/5/13 (today) it will be reduced to £50.
The parking charge is because they say I was parked for 41mins over the three hours that it states you can park. They have a photo of me entering the car park and leaving.
Everyone I have spoken to has told me to ignore, I have also contacted the local council for advice and they told me that PE are a legal company but they could not advise me on whether or not to pay!! I really don't know what to do0 -
Can you please post a new thread, omitting everything that I mention in my signature below, and edit this out this post as you are identifying yourself to these scammers

I have also received a £100 PCN from Parking Eye for parking 42 minutes over the 2 hour limit at a motorway service station. I do not deny this, but am frustrated because I my car had broken down, so had to wait for the AA leading me to overstay.
I have read a number of posts stating that I can ignore the PCN, but am concerned by the legal aspects of this. Has anyone had recent experience of ignoring them? Who can I call about this?0 -
