Pick up at Gatwick - or do I need to park??

I need to go to Gatwick in a few days time to pick my wife up from her flight, it will be around 6pm, unfortunately! I've heard that some airports don't allow pick up direct from the terminal now - you have to use the short term parking. So, does this apply to Gatwick? I've also heard that there is a McDonalds in the area where some people wait till they know that their passenger is outside & ready to be picked up.

You are allowed to pick up people at the drop off areas which is known as the passenger drop off areas, dont go into the short stay car park, its a rip off and dont rely on Macdonalds as the taxis fill that up.
If you want complete piece of mind of where to go exactly, watch these videos,they will tell you exactly how to get to the drop off points, I should know I made them.
The traffic wardens are ridiculous there, just remember you are allowed to stop to unload but not allowed to wait so if they move you on then just do the circuit again.
