ASDA reduced to clear reductions only MORE ADDED 29th May 12 at 8:52 PM
    OFFICIAL MONEYSAVINGEXPERT.COM INSERT - 6 June 2012

    What's the deal?

With the highest possible score of 999 on the WOW forum feed, it's clear these Asda bargains are super popular with forumites. This thread has hundreds of listings of reduced-to-clear items at Asda, going for as little as 8p. Bargains currently on offer include baking products, desserts & pasta sauces.

Asda won't confirm all the products included but judging by what forumites are saying it's not a systems error - these lines appear to have been reduced to clear (check use-by dates before you buy). Stock is limited and all items won't be available in each store, so don't go miles out of your way.

Also while every store reserves the right not to sell stock if there is a genuine pricing error, forumites say that in all of the cases listed in this thread buyers have been successful.

    Popular bargains

Below are examples of what forumites have got at massively reduced prices. Huge thanks for all their help. The most recent bargains found are on the final few pages of this thread.

    • Asda Syrup Sponge Pudding, 23p
    • Mission Mexican Hot Salsa Dip, 30p
    • Capri Sun 5 pk, 62p
    • Asda Mango Chutney, 20p
    • Carnation Rice Pudding mix, 8p
Please press reply to add yours at the end of the thread. Please include barcodes and pictures, if you can, as that helps others track bargains.

Have fun scanning through the pages and pages of deals.

    Tips to find 'em

    - While many bargains are marked down on the shelves, some are marked as full price but scan through reduced at the till

    - Check your receipts (or watch the till display) to ensure you get the price you expect.

    - If possible, self-service checkouts will help with this. If it's not reduced and you don't want it, just cancel.

    - While many bargains have been found in multiple shops, they vary from store to store and forumites have noticed differences in reductions on the same items in different parts of the country.

Most of all, this is a bit of fun, NOT a guaranteed deal.

For more tips and deals like this please get the Free weekly MoneySaving e-mail

    Is this legit?

The law on this is simple. If your items scan at a reduced price at the checkout, Asda staff can reject the sale and tell you it can't be bought (no one has reported this happening with the current reductions, but it has happened in the past). However, if it accepts your money, the deal's done and the product is yours at that price – there is no comeback (unlike when this happens online).

BIG THANKS TO MYRTLETURTLE & ALL FORUMITES WHO REPORTED ASDA FINDS. If you get a bargain, please thank myrtleturtle below.

THREAD FOR ASDA REDUCED TO CLEAR REDUCTIONS ONLY

as list is getting bigger thought i'd better make a small request
this thread will be for asda RTC ( reduced to clear) items NOT GUARANTEED TO BE IN EVERY STORE
price are the SEL (self edge label )price not mis scans
items may not be in every store, seems ech store has their own selection so what you find in one store may not be in another and that store in turn may have something different

please post if you find anything with as much detail as possible, will then add pictures of item so others know what to look out for.
will group as much as i can on 1st few posts so hopefully easier to find

    HAPPY HUNTING

    ASDA Bargains
Came across the same thing in my local store today! Just one aisle containing silly deals like that.

Tilda basmati rice boil in the bag was £2.50 now 50p
Microwave pilau rice was £1 now 25p
Chicken tonight sweet and sour was £1 now 40p
Ragu sauces as you mentioned were £1.56 now 40p
    Teriyaki/Sechuan/Chow Mein etc were 82p now 20p
Blue dragon sweet and sour shots were £1.19 now 10p! the best one

Really suprised to see such random bargains just on the one aisle. Maybe they will do a different aisle next week for some serious bargains. Thought i might have been the only one to see it but evidently others are keen eyed

Are these nearly out of date items, discontinued by the maufacturer, or are ASDA no longer selling them?
