Lidl Half Price wekend offers 12-13th May
Fresh British Beef Lean Frying Steak 360g was £2.49 now £1.24

Aubergine was 75p each now 37p each

Hula Hoops 18 pack was £2.99 now £1.49

I personally think this is one of the better weekend offers, Kids love Crisps, I love Choccie Biccies and my other half love steak - everyone's a winner!

Argh the temptation of choccie biscuits and buttery ones at that!

I shall be grabbing some of the stewing steak and possibly the aubergines to go in veg lasagne.

................ but better off stewing. lol

Got loads a while back and not very nice fried, very tough (maybe just unlucky??).
I ended up making casseroles/steak and ale etc with mine.
Cheap though, even if just buying to mince.

Lidl aubergines are always very good and look like someone polished them :) 37p each is great I can mess around with a recipe I spotted on a blog for vegan aubergine bacon (find real bacon too salty now)

PLEASE share the vegan bacon recipe!

We'll be the opposite to you granary roll:
DD (and us, too) finds crisps too salty - much rather have 'pitta chips' fresh from the oven
    Don't eat meat
    Don't eat butter/not biscuit mad

On the other hand we are all aubergine mad, so excited about these :)

If there are stocks aplenty I'll be making and freezing aubergine curry, vegan moussaka and breaded aubergine slices (for vegan aubergine parmegiana)
  • My friend got me a pack of the frying steak a few weeks ago as it was 30% off and I have to say that it was absolutely lovely - i made a stir fry with it and it was lovely and tender. I bought some more last week and it was tough - I guess its the luck of the draw. I'll still get some at the weekend though!

oops, don't know how I missed that was frying steak not stewing. Still, looks like it could still work that way.

Course I could just kybosh that and spend the pennies on the buttery choccie biscuits, which I'm sorely tempted to do! :D
