Welcome to the thread for everyone starting or continuing their MFW journey in 2012.

Hopefully many of us will want to continue the hard work that we have put in to overpaying our mortgages in 2011, and there will be those who want to start on their MFW journey - for all of us this is the place to be.

Please feel free to join our journey at any time - you can either:
Complete the online form (please note it's not automatic, I update the spreadsheet when I get around to it ); or
send me a private message (PM); or
reply to the thread (please give me a shout if it seems I've missed your post)
to be added to the list with your overpayment target for 2012 and then on a monthly basis your overpayment for the month and a year to date figure - including your MFW 2011 number please

There is no cut off point for joining the thread and the challenge (except the 31st December 2012) so if at any point this year you are ready to start working on becoming mortgage free please join us! Any overpayment (OP) target welcome no matter how small. Also, if you have a diary on MSE it can be linked to the first posts if you want, just let me have the link.

To see our previous successes, please see the 2011 MFW challenge, 2010 MFW challenge and Zavarony's 2009 MFW thread that I shamelessly plagiarised (along with this text from the 2011 MFW challenge)

Good luck to us all!

Please add me to the list for 2012!
Not sure what my target is yet cos work and mot might both be changing!
I'll say OP of £2000 and will change if necessary.
    Thanks

  • Can you please add me to the list :)

I'm not sure of our target yet - could you put this down for 10,000 for the moment, but I'll probably amend to just over £12,000. It will be whatever it takes to get us down to 50k by the end of the year 2012.

Good luck everyone, and thanks for the hard work this involves.
June wins: 2 x Robbie Williams tickets, iPad mini, £200 skatehut voucher :)

A huge thank you to all posters xx

    Hi OM,

    Thanks very much. :T:beer::j

I'll certainly join and help you out as best I can.

I haven't fully worked out the OPs for 2012 yet but I'll initially say £8400 please. This may get changed later this month when I've done the full budget for the year. I don't mind if I have a new number or if you want to keep me at No. 40.

    All the best,
    Spigs
