Why censorship of silver investing?

Options
Recap....

The most popular thread on these forums was called silver bullion for investment. It had over 10,000 post and hundreds of thousands of views the last few years.

A few days ago it disappeared while a few of us were in the middle of a discussion.

Someone started a 2nd one and it got several pages of posts in a very short space of time. Then it got pulled.

A 3rd was started, and so on.

This went on until the 9th silver investment thread which did not get pulled for some reason. There were a couple of hundred posts on there last night.

This morning that has got censored as well.

We have asked so many times for an explanation from MSE team, but always falls on deaf ears.

Is silver really that dangerous to discuss openly?

If the desire is to discourage silver bullion for investment then it should be noted that this kind of censorship only results in further interest.

Are you really saying you got to 9 threads on the same topic, all of which were created after the previous one was pulled?

Just how many hints do some people need? 10/10 for the patience and understanding shown by the forum team :T

    This from the forum rules:
forum_faqs_small_bubble.gifWhy has my post/thread been removed without telling me?
Posts/threads are deleted so we're no longer "publishing" them. While you may have posted it once we are made aware of it - we are legally liable too as the publisher. When something is deleted, it's removed from public view but it's still viewable by the Forum Team and can be reinstated if it needs to be. It won't show up in a forum search.
We never contact people when their posts are deleted. The sheer numbers of posts removed every day means it's simply impossible to contact everyone.
The Forum Team won't respond to aggressive emails demanding to know why a post/thread's been removed but if you send a polite email asking, it may review or explain the decision where possible (sometimes legal reasons prevent this). If you're still unhappy email webmaster@moneysavingexpert.com

So why do you think MSE is trying to stop us talking about silver investing?

No we're not allowing silver discussion at the moment.

    And: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=122818
Decisions are not explained deliberately. Often threads are deleted without explanation. This is based on legal advice. If we start 'accusing' people of things, eg spamming, being racist, being abusive, being wrong etc then we are open to legal challenge and therefore we are advised to delete without blame - often things are deleted simply because we dont have the resources to manage it properly.

Hi, I've posted a note from the Team on the Savings Board. Could the person/people involved in the Silver thread take a look if he/she/they hasn't already.

    Thanks!
