I got my BMI American Express card after reading up carefully on the current offers. The offer I signed up under end of Novemeber/beginning of December 2010 was where I would get 20 000 airmiles if I spent I think £1000 in the first 3 months. I did that and received those. But the other bonus offer was an additional 10 000 airmiles if I spent somewhere like £8000 in the year. I can't remember the amount and have no record of the original offer, but I have definitely gone way over the needed amount. No sign of those bonus airmiles and after contacting Diamond Club and then MBNA I cannot get more out of them than being told 2nd hand from the MBNA marketing department that I am not entitled to the points. I'm sure I am but have no proof of the original offer.
Any help?

Hi there, does anyone have any idea what will happen after the sale of BMI to IAG (BA)? Will their cards and frequent flyer schemes be merges?
Thanks

Most unlikely. The BMI card is issued by MBNA and the BA card by mainline American Express.Hi there, does anyone have any idea what will happen after the sale of BMI to IAG (BA)? Will their cards and frequent flyer schemes be merges?
I imagine that the BMI card will be replaced by an MBNA card without affiliated partner and without miles.
As for the FF schemes, we won't know until next week.0 -
Hi all, quick question...does anyone know how long it normally takes before you receive details about your diamond club account once you have this credit card please? I've had the card a few weeks and am not sure if I need to do anything or just wait!
Thanks in advance.0 -
Can't from memory remember how long mine took, but I'd wait until after your statement date.
As to what happens I received notification from BMI re: the Diamond CLub account number etc. and instructions on how to signup.0 -

Sorry, I don't know - I already had my Diamond Club account before I took out the credit card.

I applied for a bmi Plus Credit Card by mistake. Did not realise that it has annual fee. Application was approved. But I cancelled it before receiving the card. But they did send me a Diamond Club memebership number.
I applied again for an ordinary BMI Credit Card, got accepted and the two cards are on its way.
Terms at their website say that 20,000 miles bonus is for new customers only.
Will I be considered as a new customer?
If I do get the 20,000 mile bonus, will I have to buy anything more (apart from the the £250 qualifying spend) to use the 20,000 miles when booking a flight?
In other words, will a return flight be free as long as it is under 20,000 miles?
Thanks!0 -
That's at least the 3rd time I've seen that message in MSE forums this morning. Is crossposting allowed in MSE?
I'm only posting this message once.
