Cream refuses to whip!!

Options
Tried with double and with whipping cream, got my victoria sponge jammed up ready, been whisking it like nobodies business, lots of bubbles but still thin. It was taken out of the fridge cold. Anyone got a technique?
Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!

If it doesn't whip, add a spoon of milk to help it along.....

When I was a little girl, I was told that cream needs to be at room temp to whip properly. Always works for me :D

Try a small spoon of icing sugar instead of normal heavy sugar
