Can you turn voicemail off on Three

Step 2, I have just spoken to three customer services. Apparently, and this is what they are telling me, if I turn off my voicemail my caller ID will no longer work? Doesn't sound right to me!
I phoned about 18 months ago and my caller ID hasn't been affected!Total rubbish.
I've been with 3 on and off for years now. All you need to do is call them, tell them to disable the voicemail and it really is as simple as that.
No issues with caller id etc etc and no annoying voicemail.

I spent half an hour being ask ed all sorts
It is a glovebox spare phone
When did you last top it up? Can't remember
How much was the top up? Can't remember
What was the last number you called? Can't remember they should know
Can you take the phone out of its case remove the back cover take the battery out read the last four digits on the sim with a magnifying glass?
Huh? Forget it0 -

Call me fussy but I would like the same control of my voice mail as I have of my landline answering machine. The concept may sound a bit off the wall but I turn it on or off as I need it ,sometimes several times a day without gaining permission from anyone.0

Google GSM codes - there's one somewhere for voicemail on and off0 -
Three’s voicemail platform is very similar to Orange’s voicemail platform. Conditional diverts to voicemail are always on regardless of GSM codes used. You can set a conditional divert to your landline for example, then do ##002# and it would then set conditional diverts to voicemail. The only way to stop it is to call and get a product added to the account that stops the conditional diverts. O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile and EE don’t have this issue.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
