    Hello and HNY everyone!

I have decided to start with the same target as last year of £2500. Mainly as I am so unsure of what is happening this year with my job. I am hopeful that I will be able to amend it later in the year when the dust has settled.

Just transferred my first OP of 2018 (to round the balance to a nice round figure!)

    So #6 £14.66 so far :D
    Total OPs 2012 - 2019 £39744.75
    Target 2020 £18500/£18500
    01/05/2020 MORTGAGE FREE

Please can I join the 2018 MFW.

I am #126 from 2017 and would like to keep that number if possible.

I would like to set myself a target of £3,500 overpayment for the current year - am planning on getting work done to the house so possibly won't have a lot of spare pennies to overpay.
    Thank you

January 2018 over payment made: £500. I managed that amount every month last year, but when I switch mortgage I'll cut the overpayments, therefore I've set a target of 6 months at this, which will be an approximate date of mortgage change I think :) Happy new year to y'all
Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045

Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 2037

#84 (still keen to move up if there's a space for it?) with an OP of £1.32. Every little helps, right?
  • Is this thread for mortgage advice or purely overpayments?? New to this site and finding my way around it. I'm not great with numbers so any helpful advice appreciated.

My question is related...out the options below which seems like the better option to you. I do have savings that were going to be use for a new bathroom but could put it towards the mortgagefor option 2?

    House value £170,000
    Current mortgage £130,746
Re-mortgage offering upto £129,500 only. I'm just under the 75% for lower rates.

Option 1 – Keep the borrowing at £129,500 and switch to the 85% Loan to Value product of 2.05% fixed rate until 31/03/2023 with a £999 Product Fee which can be added to the loan and monthly payments of approx.. £475

Option 2 – Stay with the 1.90% 5 year product and reduce the borrowing to £126,500 plus £999 Product Fee this would mean you would need to pay about £3,500 along with the £126,500. Payments of approx...£455.
