I spoke to soon, had a trip to the vet for my rabbit today, £120 :eek:_pale_ I've contacted the rescue centre as it was to do with a pre-existing condition which they said they can help pay with. So until I hear from them I used my credit card, but will pay it ASAP with funds from my emergency fund.
Good news from the rescue centre, they will cover half the cost of the treatment, I just have to wait for a cheque. I'll take the £60 hit to the EF and adjust my signature accordingly! However the other rabbit decided to get ill and also cost me money at the vet, although hers is going through the insurance. I should get some of that back as well. For now the EF stands at £762.
This has reaffirmed 2 things for me:
1. Having an emergency fund is an absolute necessity!
2. Ditto for pet insurance!Save £3,000 emergency fund #79 - £1,805 as of 04/240 -
