Please Help To Remove a Vodafone default

I have a default record on my credit report from Vodafone.
The default date was back in April 2010. During that time, I was diagnosed with Cerebral Lupus(the immune system attacking my own body), stayed in the hospital for two and half months, and I was out of job for another 6 months. I didn't have the money to keep up the bills.

I wasn't aware of the default until 2012 when I needed to apply for a bank loan. Soon as I was aware of the default, I contacted Vodafone(through MoneySavingExpert Forum) and paid it off in full. I have a letter sent from Vodafone stating the balance has been settled in full.

Now, I am preparing for applying a mortgage and starting my family. I know that I would stand very little chance to make it happen if the default stayed on my credit report.
Please can Vodafone Company Representative help me to have the default removed.
Your help will be deeply appreciated.

    I am sure it's not what you want to hear, but IMO, this is absolutely rightful default and there can't be any formal reasons for removing it.

    Savings and insurances exist for avoiding defaults in unforeseen circumstances, but you didn't have either.



    Even if Vodafone agree to remove the default as a gesture of goodwill, this will look like reporting untruthful information and misleading other potential lenders.

    Sorry but that's life. As long as the information on the credit report is accurate then I don't think you'll have any luck.
    You'll need to speak to a specialist mortgage advisor as many banks won't touch anyone with a recent default

    As everyone else has said, your chances of having the default removed are near non-existent. It will fall off in under 2 years time, so I'd just use that time to save a larger deposit.
    Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

    ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

    how much was it for, they may remove but really shouldn't as it makes a joke of the system
    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Thank you for your replies, I appreciate your comments.

    The original bill was around 190 pound, but I paid 370 pound as it was on the outstanding default amount. I guess there was a 'Default fee'. I can't remember now.

    The status shows as 'Satisfied' in my credit report. I am not sure is that any different to 'Settled'?

    Email and ask. Be truthful in your account and they might remove it.

    They dont have to but you've got nothing to lose by asking.

    I think "satisfied" has something to do with a CCJ that was settled?
