Can I put a shed close to my wall?

I would vote for using the house wall as one wall of the shed.

Small gaps are a nightmare - in a case like this, you either need no gap at all, or one that's big enough to access for maintenance.

I don't think there's any risk of damp - if anything, you're putting an extra protective layer against that part of the wall.

I have a shed in the corner of the garden one side is 60cm from the fence and that is fine to clear and maintain(the fence and shed) the other is 40cm and that is not enough to do it comfortably although can be done.
(mines only 8' and it is a pain)

When you say alleyway what's on the other side of the shed?

Near us what someone did was build their side alley shed from the wall right up to the boundary repalcing the fence, but they can access for maintenance from the public path.

Less materials as you don't need one wall just the flashing to the roof.

on a 15' shed that could be quite a saving.

Thanks for all the views, by the sounds of it a small gap isnt a very good idea for a number of reasons.

We are considering the lean-to but have been having issues working out what kind of tradesman would build such a structure. However I have now contacted a carpenter who says he has done similar a few times so I will get him round to take a look.

The alleyway is between my wall and the fence that borders my neighbours side alley. The fence is the one I maintain.

    Thanks

Would the neighbour be interested in covering their alley?

A shed is just the same with the ends blocked off.
