August Bring Your Lunch To Work Challenge

I've not seen this challenge around for a while so I'm going to resurrect it!

I'm fairly disciplined about bringing in lunch but haven't always been, three pounds per day spent on a meal deal used to be the order of the day (with a side order of St@rbucks hot chocolate and pastry for breakfast in the morning!) and I still work with people that think nothing of spending a fiver on lunch and, as we know, it soon mounts up.

So, treat the challenge however you wish, you can declare how many days you intend to bring in lunch during August, keep a tally of how much you've saved, share what you're having or just drop in for inspiration.

My lunches tend to be built around whatever sandwiches are yellow stickered at my local supermarket the night before where I get them at 80% off. I might be able to make them cheaper if I didn't mind having the same thing for five days running but this way I get variety for less than 30p a day!

On the odd occasion when the cupboard is bare or I've left my lunch at home (or on the train!) and have to buy lunch on the hop I've found the cheapest thing to grab in a hurry is a twin pack of sausage rolls or a tin of supermarket own brand soup.
