PIP ending letter

I'm currently on PIP, standard daily living and enhanced mobility.

My award ends on 22nd September this year and I've just got a letter saying that the award is coming to and end and "you'll need to make a new claim if you still need help with your daily living or mobility needs".

Does anyone know why I got this instead of a renewal form? I have several illnesses some life threatening and all progressive. I'm 30 and will be lucky if I live to 50 (and that's assuming I get a heart when I need a new one, currently pushing my 2nd heart, 1st transplant to its limits.

I had an indefinite DLA care award and a 3 year mobility award before transferring to PIP, awarded at tribunal after a nightmare of a transfer where the DWP "forgot" to look at my DLA file when transferring me over then sent it to my nosey neighbour when I asked for a copy to send to tribunal.

    You should have been sent a PIP review form. Reviews take place 1 year before an award is due to end. Are you sure there was no review form with the letter? The review forms are much shortened version of the PIP2 forms.

    Absolutely nothing, it's just one page with a phone number on it for me to call.

    What confuses me is that if your award ends in September then why weren't you sent a review form last September? You should have been reviewed then. I would ring DWP and find out what's why you weren't reviewed last year. If you don't do something then your money will stop on the date stated. Sorry i can't help you any further. Good luck.

    Yeah I'm going to phone them on Monday, just wondering if anyone else has had this as everywhere is talking about this review form and I've literally got a letter saying "your award is ending, call us to reclaim"

    How long was your award, those under three years are fixed terms and you do need ot claim again, those over three years are continuing and you get sent a review

    That's incorrect info, sorry. Everyone should be reviewed 1 year before there award ends as i stated above. My first award for PIP was 3 years but i was reviewed at 2 years. I was sent a shortened version of the PIP2 form and didn't need to claim again.

    18 months, apparently the DWP are a bit like Jesus and I'm going to be miraculously cured at some point.

    Edit, that's not right, it was 18 months from the tribunal but I got about 6 months backpay as well.

    Oh I know, I do wonder if they're hoping the stress kills me so they can save some money.

    So on the phone today I was told I have a fixed term award. They couldn't or wouldn't tell me why and a supervisor is going to call me back tomorrow to discuss what's going on. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I won't be getting a shortened form, I need the full length PIP 2 form. I've asked them to post me the SOR from my last tribunal and have already requested letters from my specialists
