#50 here to report that I now have £36 in my pot :) I have decided to go with an online savings account instead of a physical pot to reduce the temptation of dipping into it!

I am sure you are all on top of this, but for those who haven't heard, the round pound coin won't be legal tender from October.
New 12 sided pound coin coming in March.

For those of you with unbreakable containers......

Hope this helps more than hinders.

You will still be able to pay them into bank accounts after October but some banks may put limits on how many they will accept.

I really struggling to put a £1 a day away so I think I need to take the money out for the whole month right after pay day and put in a tin. How does everyone else do this?

I use cashback sites, payments are sent as Amazon gift cards, and I then use this amount to get Christmas presents, so I don't actually pot £1 a day but aim to have £365 in my amazon account by November.

Some here use terrimundi pots and put £7 a week in, rather then £1 a day, and likewise you can pot £30 - £31 a month, some others have a online account linked to bank account where they transfer money each week...

    lots of options.

Mine is in my Tesco Internet Saver. I need the DD to get my Halifax Reward so I may as well kill two birds with one stone, as it's not a large sum to accept reduced interest on.

I only have £15 so far so I am behind (though I did buy cards and wrapping paper in the sales) but I plan to make up the difference in future months.
