This is a really useful thread.

I have just ordered my report online from Experian. Cost £2, and should be sent within 7-10 days.

I went to do the same with Call Credit and Equifax, and was stunned to see their prices.

Call Credit want £7.50 and Equifax want £11.75 to see my reports.

Does anyone know if I can still get my report for £2 if I apply by post - can't find any reference to this on their websites. What prices have you paid?

    Thanks!
If it was easy, everyone would do it!

They are not allowed to charge you more than £2 for the basic report, but they do make it hard to find on their web sites. Here is the Experian one and here is Call Credit's.

glad i saw this, i was just about to ask how to find the online reports.

all i can ever see is the company trying to get me to do a free trial of something, promptly taking my card details and hoping i forget!

I would recommend at least 2 credit reports, because my report from experian is squeaky clean, but on my equifax one my ex husband's name appears as a financial associate (NOT!) which has made a huge difference to me - i.e. been turned down for jobs and a bank account because of this. Interesting thread!

My Equifax is clean and used the £12 (ish) online report thing and this included a credit scrore (they deemed me 444 - good) as well as the report itself.

Only opted for the £2 jobby from Experian, wonder what they have to say!

Creation Financial Services (Duet Store Cards) search using Experian.

They log account details with them also.

Just thought I'd add something to the forum instead of just taking.

At present most companies only have 1 link to either Experian or Equifax (Call Credit are new to the industry and so it will take sometime before they accumulate enough data) for making a credit search on applications (eg. searches) and on reporting accounts.

However, a lot of companies are now toying/implementing systems to deal with both for 2 reasons:

    1) Competition will result in cheaper fees for the company
    2) More accurate results resulting in a "better" decision for them

More companies report on accounts to both agencies than use them for searches.

Does anyone know which credit card companies, other than Marbles and Cahoot, search only Equifax?
