are you sure it was not performing system updates which is causing it to run slow and freeze? Is it upto spec for what you are trying to do ie ram, processor speed, graphics card?
I was thinking the same. Generally new laptops spend an age updating all the latest Windows updates at first and it can really slow down a cheap sub-£300 laptop. Best just let it get on with it and it should be better once it's complete. Also uninstall any bloatware that's on the computer as this can also take it's toll on lower spec devices.

Thank you for the replies. I know the only way to know is to return it and see, I was just looking for tips and ideas what argument I may be up against doing so. Thank you JJ for the 'don't mention the internet'. I wont, I will concentrate on the slow and constant freezing.

Try being nice, that'll be your best bet.
