Have you been offered a hideous interest rate?

Many savings rates are spit-worthily dire because the Bank of England base rate is at its 0.25% historical low, though some pay a decent up to 5%. (see our guides) Even when rates do rise, many are still utter pants, such as MSE Helen's new 0.05% deal.

What interest rate have you been offered? And is it as hideous as this?

Helen isn't very MSE if she's on 0.25%
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Nope. Everything I have is paying at least 1.11% - managed to jump on the Cyprus 1.3% offer. Santander 123 @ 1.5%, seven or so regular savers at 2.25%, one regular saver at 2%, one regular saver at 5%, 5% on £2.5k in a current account, an older Guaranteed Income Bond from NS&I paying 1.7% and a Halifax H2B ISA at 3.5%, Tesco Internet saver 1.11% and Shawbrook @ 1.2%. I can't at the moment tie money up long term for personal reasons.

My Nationwide FlexAccount joint bills account doesn't pay any interest. I could transfer it to a Santander 123 account and make c. £60 per year. I can't be bothered for that though.

Minimum interest rate is 0.95% on my promoted Tesco Internet saver. Maximum is 5% with Nationwide (still in the 1st year deal on flexdirect and Flexclusive regular saver). Highest non linked regular saver I have is the virgin esaver at 2.25%. All are easy access.

To benefit from the best rates you have to be very MSE and look for new deals towards the end of current promotional periods otherwise accept the "hideous" rates for being loyal.
You should pay attention to the needs of the moment - otherwise there is no future. But to ignore the future is foolish - living solely for the moment leaves nothing for when the next moment arrives.

Lowest rate I have is 0.25%. Doesn't pay me much interest on the massive 10p balance but it does take £15 per month via DD across my 3 BOS accounts ;)

And relevance to the Current Account board is?

    a) It's not a Current Account board.
    b) Most of the best rates are offered by current accounts.

It's worse. It says her new deal is 0.05%. You got to wonder what research went into this, and what or who made her take it.
