German/Swiss shares - possible to put in an ISA?

Options
Hi there

I was trying to buy some shares in a few German / Swiss companies but my (online) dealer says it's not possible to hold them in an ISA.

Nothing particularly exotic -relatively large listed firms like Roche, Brenntag etc.

From what I have read it's should be fine but so far I can't process the buy order, getting the error message above (and this started happening before the referendum result so is not due to that).

Is it really not possible to hold these in an ISA wrapper?

These are really two different questions:

    1. Do HMRC rules and regs permit foreign shares in a S&S ISA? Yes

    2. Does your ISA provider choose to allow this? Seemingly not!

Thanks. I wanted to be sure it was possible within the ISA rules before replying to the broker who are claiming that it's not them that's the issue it's the ISA regulations.
